| Again note the two fruit sizes. The self pollinated ones are small & usually empty, although I have grown a plant from seed from one. The fertilized fruit are bigger, very tasty when fresh with a lemony acidic taste & a kerosene like smell. Kerosene occurs naturally in some fruits e.g. mangos. The hybrid seed will germinate vigorously, but such hybrids are usually very shy flowering. These are all actinia fruit except for a stray foetida at the foot. |
