| P. membranacea must be well established to flower & has yet to do so in Europe. It is know for producing many seedlings that cannot flower, & of those that can, few can self pollinate & set fruit. Therefore it may be that none of the clones presently in Europe have the capacity to flower. In fact I think there may be just one clone in Europe. This is a picture of my young plant. As the plant matures the leaves thicken & become circular losing their lobes. This is one of the most tempermental passion flowers I have ever grown. It is very sensitive to sudden exposure to sun & wind, yet I have seen it start to produce new growth in UK in December after exposure to -4° C, 40° F. |
