P. edulis x P. edulis flavicarpa hybrid?, from South Africa. A similar size to flavicarpa, so it is likely to be a hybrid but could just be a very large selection of edulis. Certainly much lighter coloured shell than a typical edulis. Some of these hybrids have the size of flavicarpa but still have the intensity of taste of P. edulis. The aroma is less acidic than edulis and like P. actinia it has a hint of kerosene. Delicious.
