Passiflora samoensis, native to Samoa, synonym Passiflora aurantia var. samoensisis, is one of a number of sub-species of Passiflora aurantia. These species have many synonyms and have often been confused both historically and currently, not helped by the colour changes in the flowers as they age over several days.
